Yesterday, a former customer called with a task that a couple of other teams had declined: an old American fridge had to be removed, and a new one brought in \u2013 but the staircase was too narrow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The solution was a window lift via scaffolding. After quick planning with pictures and measurements, we met with four men, kept the time estimate at 2.5 hours, and got both cabinets safely out and in. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Creative thinking was required along the way, but with proper padding, upright handling as far as possible, and sharp coordination, we finished without scratches or scrapes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Preparation that makes a difference<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Follow this simple checklist to get your American refrigerator ready for moving. By emptying, defrosting and securing all parts correctly, you avoid damage, water leaks and unnecessary trouble on moving day. <\/p>

  1. Empty, defrost and turn off<\/strong>

    Empty and defrost your refrigerator well in advance. Turn off at the socket 12\u201324 hours before, empty shelves and drawers, wipe away condensation, and leave the doors ajar. <\/p> <\/li>

  2. Close the water supply<\/strong>

    Close the water at the shut-off valve, and carefully disconnect the hose \u2013 have a cloth or small bucket ready for residual water.<\/p> <\/li>

  3. Remove content<\/strong>

    Take out loose shelves and containers or fasten them gently, and put straps or use plenty of cling film to hold the doors.<\/p> <\/li>

  4. Check access conditions<\/strong>

    Measure access routes (doors, staircase, stairs), and assess whether cabinet doors\/handles should be removed to gain extra centimeters.<\/p> <\/li><\/ol><\/div>\n\n\n\n

    How we carry out your move.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    We start with a short inspection, and make a plan for access conditions, weight and any disassembly. The cabinet and home are protected with felt blankets and any edge protectors, if it is tight. The carrying itself is carried out by experienced movers with carrying straps, so the weight is distributed safely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    If it needs to be transported, we ensure that the cabinet is fastened in the moving van in an upright position \u2013 we do not lay it down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    In narrow passages, we use ramps and controlled maneuvering. At the new address, we are happy to put the cabinet in level, help with connecting water and electricity by agreement, and give advice on correct start-up. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
